Ghost Piece is Stone Island's monochrome concept, taken from the idea of camouflage. The whole garment is executed in a single colour, badge included. The compass badge on the left sleeve is tonal, in the same brown as the fabric, so it disappears into the coat instead of announcing itself.

The fabric is a stretch worsted wool and nylon twill: the technical side of nylon with the insulating side of wool. The piece is padded with down and garment dyed, and a special agent added to the dye bath gives it an anti-drop finish, so water beads on the surface instead of soaking in.

It comes with two hoods. A plain padded hood in the coat fabric, and a shearling hood in brown suede with the natural wool left on, finished with a darker leather strip along the crown seam. The shearling hood can be worn on its own with the outer hood down behind it, or tucked inside the outer hood so only the wool shows around the face. Two flap chest pockets with engraved buttons, hand pockets below, a full zip behind a front placket, buttoned cuffs and a drawcord at the hem.
