Every single item we sell is checked before it goes online. In the history of Timeless Fits, not one piece we have sold has turned out to be anything other than authentic.
This page explains exactly how we work, because "100% authentic" is easy to write and we would rather show you what stands behind it.
Where our stock comes from
A large part of what we sell is overstock bought directly from established retailers. These are pieces that never sold on the shop floor and come to us straight from the store, not from an anonymous seller online. We work with a fixed network of respected shops that we have been dealing with for years.
Alongside that we buy from other traders and from private sellers. Everything that comes in through those channels goes through the checks below before it is listed.
How we check every piece
How we verify a garment depends on how old it is.
Recent pieces: the digital tag
Most major brands now build a QR or NFC code into the garment. We scan it and verify it against the brand's own database. If the code does not resolve, or resolves to a different product, the piece does not go online.
Vintage and older pieces: by hand
Older garments predate those tags, so they are inspected by hand. We look at:
- The badge or logo patch, and the way it is attached
- The stitching: thread colour, density and finish
- The buttons and zips, including the maker's markings on the hardware
- The care label: typeface, wording and construction
- The season and article codes, checked against the year the piece was made
- The internal finishing, seams and linings
Counterfeiters get the outside right. They almost never get all of the above right at once.
If we have any doubt, it does not go online
We would rather lose the purchase price of a piece than sell something we are not sure about. If a garment does not pass, it does not get listed.
And if we were ever wrong: we take the item back and refund the full purchase price plus shipping, both ways.
Photographed in detail, before it ships
Every item is photographed by us from all sides before it goes online, including the labels, the badge and any signs of wear. What you see on the product page is the actual piece you receive, not a stock image. Those photos are also the reference point if anything is ever disputed.
Come and see for yourself
Timeless Fits is not only an online shop. We have a physical store at Veemarktkade 8, 's-Hertogenbosch, where you can walk in, handle the pieces, try them on and buy them.
If you are buying something expensive and you would rather see it in person first, you are welcome. Bring a question, we are happy to walk you through what we look at.
Questions about a specific piece?
Email info@timeless-fits.com and ask for close-up photos of any detail you want to see: the neck tag, the badge, the inner labels, the stitching. We send them, every time, before you buy.
